BRAVO, MCKINNEY!
The exciting renderings of the new master plans for Towne Lake were revealed by Director of Parks and Recreation Michael Kowski at McKinney Community Development Corporation meeting on October 27, 2022.
Many of the design features are geared to withstand the flood potential that Towne Lake is so prone to, so the plan will both look amazing and provide a practical benefit!
It is so very clear that McKinney Parks and Recreation are dedicated to the improvement of our city, focusing heavily on our city's natural beauty and what makes it unique. Towne Lake is a very deserving location of refinement and improvement!
Some design highlights:
Raised boardwalk similar to Granite Park in Frisco
A Lighted Woods trail - colored lights in the trees!
Elevated covered modern walkable on boardwalk
Outdoor fitness equipment
Outdoor amphitheater with green seating space
Splash pad!!!
Boardwalk portion that juts out into lake offering seating space for picnics and views
Modern and fun new children's park
Large dog park with agility course feature
This is looking to be about a $4m project.
