Whether you have been in the area for awhile or if you're new, these are the must-see neighborhoods to check out during the holidays! Looking at Christmas lights is one of the most wholesome, frugal, and memorable ways to create long-lasting family traditions.

All of these are free, and all are walkable or driveable. Many displays will be Christmas-ready by December 1st!

Note that Deerfield has a paid, horse-drawn carriage option but these do book quickly!

Know of a great Christmas Lighted neighborhood in the McKinney area you don't see listed here? Let us know at mackidmckinney@macaronikid.com!

  • Deerfield Neighborhood in Plano, Texas near Legacy Drive & Ohio Drive. Pro tip: Everyone tries to enter through the gates on the South side of the neighborhood. There is no official entrance to see the lights, so enter on an East, West, or North side street. View carriage rates here.
  • Tucker Hill Neighborhood in McKinney, Texas near Hwy 380 and Stonebridge Drive. A smaller option with beautiful houses. They have a Neighborhood Best Christmas lights competition that is usually chosen by mid-December, so it gets really festive by the end of the first week of December!
  • Village of Eldorado / Eldorado Country Club Neighborhood in McKinney, Texas near Eldorado Drive and Country Club Drive. The hills, the trees, the beautifully decorated homes! You'll find lots of homes all decked out on both the North and South side of Eldorado.
  • Individual Homes all over the area! Collin County Guide (collincountyguide.com) has pulled together an annual, amazing master list & interactive map of all the houses worth checking out with amazing lighted displays. Themed to music and featuring thousands of lights, these homes are sure to be worth a visit! View their guide here, which is organized by city and easy to navigate.

As a "warm-up" to your holiday season, we encourage you to take a drive down Church Street in Downtown McKinney to view the dozens of turkeys!

Most homeowners have one (or 2!) huge inflatable turkeys in their front yard. It is fun to drive down the road to count the turkeys with your kids!

It's sure to make you smile, too!
