There’s nothing quite as fun and satisfying as making your own slime! This gooey, stretchy, and squishy craft is a hit with kids (and adults, too). The best part? You only need a few simple household ingredients—contact solution, water, Elmer’s glue, and baking soda—to create the perfect slime.
Why is Slime So Fun?
Slime is not just a fun activity—it’s also a great way to explore science! Mixing the ingredients together creates a cool chemical reaction that turns liquid into a stretchy, moldable substance. Plus, it’s an awesome sensory experience, helping kids develop fine motor skills while they stretch, squeeze, and swirl their creations.

Instructions:
- Mix Glue & Water – In a bowl, combine the glue and water, stirring until smooth. Add food coloring or glitter if you want to make it extra cool! Pro tip: stick with just a few drops, we learned the hard way that too much makes hands turn colors! Gel food coloring has less risk of transferring color.

- Add Baking Soda – Stir in the baking soda to help thicken the slime.
- Activate with Contact Solution – Slowly add the contact solution while stirring. You’ll see the slime start to form. Keep mixing until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Pro tip: Now is a great time incorporate any add ins but you can do that any time from this point on.

- Knead & Play! – Use your hands to knead the slime until it’s stretchy and smooth. Slowly add more contact solution as needed. It's will be very sticky at first but kneading and adding contact solution will get it to a good consistency.
